Environmental Commitment
Hot-Dip Galvanizing
Zinc is essential for life and one of the most recycled metals in the world. Our hot-dip Galvanizing process is a key contributor to protecting infrastructure, extending the lifespan of products, and supporting a circular economy. Our “closed loop” process ensures that nearly all by-products are recycled, with zero petroleum-based solvents and virtually no volatile organic compounds (VOCs). With a small carbon footprint and 100% recyclability, galvanized steel exemplifies our commitment to sustainability. E-Coating
E-Coating provides a sustainable alternative to traditional coatings. Utilizing a water-based bath, the electro-deposition process generates almost no waste or VOCs. Any excess resins are reclaimed and reused, minimizing environmental impact while offering durable corrosion protection. This efficient process aligns with our goal of reducing waste and conserving resources.
Powder Coating
Powder Coating offers a cleaner, more environmentally friendly solution compared to liquid paint. With no solvents and minimal VOC emissions, this process significantly reduces air pollution. We also focus on efficiency by collecting and reusing powder overspray, ensuring that our operations minimize waste and maximize resource conservation.

VALPASS®
Valmont Coatings is dedicated to delivering coating solutions that support both worker safety and environmental stewardship. VALPASS is a high-performance alternative to traditional chromate quenching, offering a hexavalent chromium-free conversion coating that protects galvanized products from oxidation for up to 12 months before natural weathering takes over. Available at select locations, VALPASS helps customers achieve their performance and sustainability goals.
GalvTrac®
Through the innovative GalvTrac® system, we’ve reduced zinc usage by 1 million pounds annually. This digital, cloud-based solution optimizes our hot-dip galvanizing process by calculating precise immersion times, leading to better resource conservation.
