Magnum Telescoping Conveyor
Year Galvanized: 2018
Galvanizers: Valmont Coatings, Valley Galvanizing
Summary: Material handling requires innovation, precise movement, and durable products to ensure that even the toughest jobs can be completed on schedule. The mining industry uses conveyors to process and move large amounts of material to different locations. The corrosive properties of this material can attack and deteriorate metal components of the conveyor. Masaba, Inc. solves this problem by protecting the steel with hot-dip galvanizing. They found hot-dip galvanizing performs better than paint coatings in corrosive environments and increases product value by extending the life of the structural components. Not only is the galvanized equipment visually appealing, the rugged equipment design, along with the hot-dip galvanized steel, creates a sustainable, virtually maintenance-free material handling solution.
Castlerock Biodiesel Feedstock Plant
Year Galvanized: 2009
Galvanizer: Valmont Coatings, Birmingham Galvanizing
Summary: Standing with a tall, bright, metallic gleam, the Rayco Industrial Castlerock Biodiesel Feedstock Plant is the first of its kind in central Alabama. Having specified many projects to be hot-dip galvanized in the past, Rayco Industrial knew the only answer to protect their new investment from the ravages of corrosion was to once again utilize the durable, metallurgically bonded zinc coating for corrosion protection. Hot-dip galvanized steel will keep this structure standing strong and stable for 50+ maintenance-free years - meaning no costly and interruptive routine maintenance to slow production. The owners wanted to protect the new facility from the rough industrial environment. With other corrosion protection systems, such as paint, small scratches can expose the base steel to damaging corrosion that will spread unchecked, like wildfire.
