Summary: The tropic marine environment of Boca Raton Florida was the primary factor of choosing hot-dip galvanizing as the corrosion protection for the Florida Atlantic University Football Stadium. Hot-dip galvanizing's durable finish as well as limited touch up at the jobsite provided a seamless erection process in a time sensitive schedule. The fabricator and galvanizer worked closely to insure proper scheduling for delivery to the site. The hot-dip galvanized structure will guarantee many years of service before first maintenance for the University.

Los Angeles Zoo's Pachyderm Forest

Summary: The Los Angeles Zoo has added the "Pachyderm Forest" - Asian Elephant exhibit as their main focal point for the preservation and observation of these intelligent animals. The exhibit had extensive design specifications that required extra inspection along every step of the construction process. Special delivery arrangements were included for the galvanized product to insure high safety standards for the zoo and their patrons. The intricate galvanized steel components were designed for an environment that is conducive to high corrosion. Hot-dip galvanizing offers the zoo an economical, long lasting form of corrosion protection with the side benefit of a quality, maintenance-free finish. Within the zoo industry, the hot-dip galvanizing process is held in the very highest regard. The Asian Elephant Pachyderm Forest exhibit has proven to be a very successful attraction at the Los Angeles Zoo.

Summary: Hot-dip galvanizing was specified for the children's roller coaster at Centreville Amusement Park in Toronto for it's superior corrosion protection and proven performance over time. Because of the intricacy of the structure, the cost of maintenance was a critical part of selecting hot-dip galvanizing as a paint system would be extremely expensive to maintain. The tubular steel pieces used in the structure benefit from the total immersion process of hot-dip galvanizing, providing internal corrosion protection unlike a paint system that would not.
